You know just thinking, there's another BIG problem with sub $1billion Mcap companies like Genel and the small free float where 77% of shares held tightly by cornerstone holders... Until our Mcap gets much much bigger, only very small funds can buy GENL because otherwise, they push the price up too much as they buy ...or worse crash it when the sell hence the current issues with Majedie selling which is holding us back so severely. Its a really big problem. Basically, only sub £30-50m (assets under management) funds can really buy us for this reason.

Leem "this gas project is not a small deal. It’s a monster project and company changing, which requires a lot of thought and money. It’s not something that can be rushed"

Exactly! - that's why the market so sceptical. Genl (well, Haywood and Rothschild) burnt their city bridges in the past. So it's taking time to rebuild that trust.... Thus creating a massive opportunity for the small time investors like us to get something really special.

About 3 years ago a close uni, now City friend of mine screwed his face up as if I'd just pepper sprayed him when I first mentioned i'd bought into Genl. As an ex HSBC and Rathbones investment manager, he knew them and the carnage well. he said the market won't touch them with a barge pole...

At that point - given what I know research wise - I thought that's just the place I want to be.

Here's the list of FUNDS in Genel... looks much better now than it did 12 months ago:

Leem this is the Market... its the way it works... I have another share which whose assets will be worth multi-$Billions - FOG - but right now the market just puts it at 15p a share /$200m Mcap due to the risks the resource play doesn't work out. They own 15% of a shale gas resource analogous to the Eagleford and Marcellus Shale combined. We're talking 100s of trillions cubic feet of gas 200 years worth for Australia. But Its still several years away. Why so low... ? The risks are still high: EG gov might change their mind in Australia. It's not certain there won't be some logistical or technical complications recovering/transporting gas. It's not 100% proven (apart from the first two discovery wells) etc etc etc water may be a problem in fracking. There are also many risks that Bina might not happen too. Not least war. That is why the market not pricing it in yet. When it does. this will be transformational like £5+ a share but there's a long road to the gas looks like 2020 at the earliest so cautious investors in the sidelines still .

But 70% of Genels shares are locked up and unavailable held by 4/5 key players ....for a reason.

Nat Rothschild 16% (via personal holding and His comapny 8% each)

One more thought. People knock Genel and so do I, but this gas project is not a small deal. It’s a monster project and company changing, which requires a lot of thought and money. It’s not something that can be rushed to appease us (although wish it was). If it stacks up they will do it but they ain’t gonna rush into something this large and spunk all the money unless it’s absolutely right, again only my uneducated guess

Also don’t feel Miran even features at the moment. Genel have enough on their plate. As I said capex is already quite high without Bina Bawi or Miran this year. If the deal is right maybe Bina is go but I’m as clueless as everyone else

Also planned capex is reasonably high minus Bina Bawi. And I’m not sure if the run rate of FCF for the first few months is therefore indicative of FCF for the remainder of true year like some are suggesting. Still making bundles of dosh though. I’m also tempted to load up a few more next week as it’s still a bit lower than where I sold. All this company need is a trigger. If billy gives a little teaser of good news it’s only a matter of time before this could rocket

Thing is if this master plan for gas or some of it was about to finally take off surely greedy people closer to the situation would be loading up? At this price the market doesn’t seem especially confident that gas is go or is it likely news will come from left field?? Be great if BIna Bawi was imminent but I’ve thought that for 12 months as it is such a lucrative prospect

Hi Hydrogen,

I know you can source some things.

Is there any chance you can get an up to date major share holders list and the number of shares held.

We don't talk about these much but they have in the main stayed firm so must still be pretty confident.

Thanks

Hawkey
