oldandtired - you seem to be extremely confused.
Factom and Sphereon aren't competitors.
Sphereon is exactly the sort of company Factom WANTS to exist.
Factom enables others to do things using the blockchain.
Sphereon is the kind of company Factom enables.
Your comment is a bit like saying "there's nothing to stop HSBC going after VISA customers". To some degree it's true but not really in reality. VISA wants banks like HSBC using them. They're a facilitator. Just like Factom enables other businesses who will use them.
Chilston - so did I :-)
Except factom Inc has about 2-3 years first mover advantage.
There is absolutely nothing to stop these so-called "partners" from going after the same customers that Factom.inc has targeted.
Sphereon are definitely not a competitor to Factom. Read the Factom Discord if you need any further proof of this. ANOs (Authorised Node Operators) of which Factom currently have 27, support the protocol by building apps and software that use the Factom protocol that increase usage of the protocol and give legitimacy to the project.
They are not going after the same slice of cake, they are making lots of individual cakes! Factom Inc are going after the big enterprise businesses, the ANOs are going after the medium to smaller businesses at this time, but all add to the increased success of the protocol.
I have been to the Sphereon website. They refer to factom but it is the factom blockchain network and factom protocol that they are talking about.
Competitors don't put other competitors on their website homepage!. Go to Sphereon. You will see factom there. Blimey this has been hard work tonight
Ok I give up. Lol. And I've spent 25 years in software. Your right! Probably
It is currently fashionable to call competitors partners. But factom.inc will not benefit financially from Sphereon. The problem I can see is that there are other companies developing their own software solutions which will also use the factom protocol. Factom.inc will probably get a slice of the cake but it might be a pretty small slice.
And that's exactly what factom want there partners to do. Think Microsoft... Then think windows. Then think of millions of apps running on top of it. Thst aren't Microsoft Factom is your Microsoft. Crudely putting it. Only with the potential to be bigger than Microsoft
Oldandtired.... Trust me. There a partner. Not a competitor.
As far as I can tell, Sphereon is a competitor to factom. Sphereon is using their own software solution, not factom's. Sphereon is using the factom protocol which doesn't directly benefit factom.inc.
Oilandtored Sphereon are a customer of factom. Their using factoms Blockchain technology. Their a partner of factoms. And so your getting confused. Factoms will have a massive partner community, developing software on top of the Blockchain.
And another lil hint, I've kept away from cryptos till now other than through a fund like this. Think I'll be making my first purchase soon
Think you're sort of reading it upside down, did this sort of not give you a hint it's good news. Sheeesh (Loggy ffs come and say hi for some sanity) :
"Although this is the first Sphereon customer to go into production, it is a major milestone for us and the Factom community. We expect two additional customers to go live and into production this month. With more to follow."
Lil hint if you're till missing it, ...... for us AND the Factom Community.
Oilandtored. Seen what??
nice find Chilston.
Yeh I had heard about the Spherion 1M customer via twitter. At the time I thought that this would have warranted a RNS or at least a company blog.... oh well.
I guess that FFWD do strictly follow what news is released or popularised. Cant wait for B series and intensity updates though!
