The total Sanctioned Smart Meters remains the same, but the Awarded number of smart meters has increased to 11,52,75,552 ( 115,275,552 ). The two winners from this report are Jharkhand - JBVNL and Maharashtra - MSEDCL.
The total Achievement ( Installed ) for April 2024, now stands at 252,504 and the total Cumulative Achievement ( Total Installed ) stands at 10,677,054.
Good Luck all.

Good morning Vas and tonyj,
Just as a contribution to the discussion, from past Genus Power " Earnings Conference Call " reports, they have mentioned within some of the reports, that they still manufacture a percentage of what they call " Traditional " meters. I take that as meaning " non-smart " meters, but smarter than the proposed customers have at present.
This may also happen with other meter manufacturers, who have any stock-piles of " ..... traditional..... " meters, already manufactured.
Good Luck all.
LTI.
Yes, it makes sense, but CC in all Genus meters unlikely IMO.
But then i know nothing really.
There is a lot of movement within Genus since Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd (Genus Power)signed a definitive agreement with Gem View Investment, an affiliate of GIC, Singapore to set up a platform for undertaking advanced metering infrastructure service provider concessions.
GIC will hold a 74 per cent stake while Genus will hold a 26 per cent stake in the platform, the company said in a BSE filing.
I wonder if certain partnerships, assets whatever are being transferred form Genus to GIC. Just a thought. no evidence.

Hello Vas, thanks for that. I definitely think it was a good idea of JC to join up with Genus and Intellismart but it is frustrating that we do not get more detailed updates. As we now can do all connections I surmise that Genus are only using CC for it's Smart Comms as directly Inhouse. Having said that Genus may not be able to disclose until all the real Subs are notified. It is really a matter of does all Genus Smart Meters contain CC, is so it would be nice for JC to say so and orders that Genus win we win. Does that make sense. DYOR
Hi Tony , according to the Genus Power Infrastructures Earnings Call for Q3FY24, published in Mid Feb 24 ( you can skim read the transcript or listen in on it)
quote regarding the awards made to Genus mostly during 2023
"Its worth mentioning that the Fulfilment of these orders will commence only after a period of
1:26
approximately 6 to 9 months from the date of order this is primarily because of the time
1:31
needed to complete the necessary formalities for starting the projects these formalities Encompass a range of
1:38
activities including necessary approvals negotiation of contract and logistic Arrangements we strive to diligently
1:45
attend to every detail to guarantee a seamless and successful execution process the execution Pro Cycle of the
1:53
current order book is about 27 to 30 months thus it provides healthy visibility of our Top Line growth
2:00
particularly for FY 25 and 26 numerous State electricity boards
2:05
have commenced the bidding process to procure Smart Meters underscoring the positive impact of the reforms etc "
The only fact we know is that the conservative 9 month period mentioned here by Genus, takes us back to June 23..........
it was only after June 23 most of the wards to the AMISPS was made and the second fact we know is that up until Today, there has not been any sign of a up tick in awards to the subcontractors - so I think I am safe in saying that the game has not yet began, and the successful company's who will win awards form Genus and others is yet to be announced.
And every week that passes brings the start date of awards even closer.
The majority of the awards made this past nine months must surely be released in the next 2-4 months , probably wrapped up with many other massive national infrastructure investments as part of the celebration to commemorate yet another Modi government win . Gl Vas

Hello LTI, Vas, Gizmo. Thanks for inputs. On the meter top left I saw a transmitter sign but that could be anything. I go on a bit about Genus and Intellismart but that was what these signings were about. Intellismart to use CC meters as they saw fit and Genus to make them on their benches (like a licence), at their cost so no supplying materials from us, just paying a fee on production. I believe Genus had to re-engineer production so not going to without committment. These two have had massive 1st assignments so likewise to me so should CC and again likewise should have had a massive rise in SP like Genus. Somebody is going to put me right to this. DYOR
Good afternoon tonyj,
I am not sure that you can identify whether or not a meter is Cellular or RF, from the outside. For economies of scale, surely they would be made the same size and big enough to take any communication's that were required, for any specific project.
As far as the security is concerned, I might suggest that would be covered partially, if not totally, by CyanConnodes asymetric key, I seem to remember being mentioned sometime ago, in connection with security. But that was some years ago and CyanConnode may still have this in place, but an upgraded version.
CyanConnode do seem to develop a solution, that does what is needed.
As far as the existing Strategic Framework Agreement is concerned, I have commented previously that, hopefully, the SFA will be coming up for renegotiation/extension, in the near future. For how many Omnimesh Modules, we will have to wait and see, what happens. But an extention of sorts, would be a natural progression, for me.
And not forgetting the potential opportunity for SFA's, with other AMISP's/Smart Meter Manufacturers in the future. Logistically and economically, I would think that it is essential, for all concerned.
Take care tonyj.
LTI.
No problem Vas. As I mentioned earlier, it is easily done.
LTI.
Hi Lt,
Thanks for that correction - i find it strange why they fail to date certain articles.
This make sense though as if this had been a new AMISP award it would have been the first one for ages.
Cheers Vas
Good morning Vas and tonyj,
Thanks for the information on Genus, Vas, but I think that this report is an order from September 2023. There is no date on the actual report. Only the " Latest News " reports at the side.
This from September 2023:-
http://projectstoday.com/News/Genus-Power-receives-LoA-for-oder-worth-Rs-224737-cr
But it is easily done.
Good Luck Vas and all.
LTI.
How are contracts awarded .1st....genus ....share price ....buy into news .........
Hi Tony,
What is strange is that if you conduct a specific search for " IntelliSmart Infrastructure" and "framework agreement" the only reference that comes up is the CyanConnode agreement.
Therefore, its likely that we have the only published Framework agreement with IntelliSmart relating to Smart Meters, out of all the smaller "sub contractors" that are aligned with IntelliSmart.
We are informed that most sub contractors are now waiting to be awarded any awards from the AMISPs but in Cyans case with IntelliSmart it is already a known, that there is a FA in pave, and IntelliSmart are regularly taking from it.
A far as Genus goes, I am unable to find any published awards to subcontractors from genus relating to S. meters - so yes, if we are still an integral part of Genus then they no longer need to make awards to CC, so to safe keep their supply as they can now manufacture Cyan's technologymore or less at will, and pay on the terms .
Maybe , (hopefully) this is why its gone quite on the Genus front.
The other unknown is have Genus actually burnt through the last order they announced with Cyan. I have no idea.
Someone else may know the likelihood of whether the original and last Genus orders are spent. GL Vas
Any confirmation on our continued relationship with Genus would be the same SP wise, as receiving a very large award IMO. GL Vas
Interesting Vas. Hopefully JC will cover Genus on his next video in detail. I have said before if we are part of Genus inhouse assembly then we will not be waiting for a contract but be part of their meter numbers. So what they get we get. Does that sound right to you. DYOR
LTI, just read your Intellismart. Was the meter displayed Cellular or RF. I was interested in the opening page regarding security and trustworthy suppliers. CC has been approved by GCHQ and I should imagine is up to date with all Cyber problems. From this particular aspect it could be CC is the most reliable and proven of all competitors.
Unless individual contracts for CC are mentioned by Intellismart could it be with all the wins that are taking place that CC has its Framework extended to say 20m units. DYOR
Another large smart meter award for Genus Infra, according to the date.
https://www.sharesbazaar.com/news/view/1041476
...... was published, dated March 2024:-
http://intellismartinfra.in/uploads/Other/intellismart--k-xchange-march-2024.pdf
An interesting piece of information on pages 3 and 4, which gives a breakdown of the various stages of the smart meter tender progress in India, as of March 2024. It highlights that 57% of the smart meters have already been Awarded, from the Sanctioned pot. Many of which, sub-contractors are waiting to be informed who have been successful.
Also on page 5, DGVCL gets a mention, which may be the CyanConnode order from August 2023 and on page 7 is a general snap-shot of the IntelliSmart projects, as of March 2024.
Good Luck all.
LTI.
Reading all of these suggested possibilities on BB from IPO downwards, I am wondering what major advances we may see from India and ROW in next 0ne to two weeks.
Hello Vas and all,
Vas, Adani Enterprices Ltd and Adani Transmission Ltd, both appear on the REC Empanelment List, along with L&T, which may be the Construction arm of the L&T business, which Schneider Electric did not aquire.
Adani Enterprises Ltd, has many outlets, in Solar Manufacturing, Edible Oils and Foods, Defence and Aerospace, Construction, Water and Mining.
http://www.adanienterprises.com
Adani Transmission Ltd, is now Adani Energy Solutions Ltd and is an Electric Power Transmission Company, that is currently one of the largest private sector power transmission companies operating in India.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adani_Energy_Solutions
http://www.adanienergysolutions.com
Adani Energy Solutions is involved with Power Transmission, Power Distribution, Smart Metering, Cooling Solutions, Tech & Innovation and System Availability.
Interestingly, the Adani " Smart Metering " web-page, is at the moment " ..... under construction."
Good Luck all.
LTI.
Good afternoon Vas and all,
A useful piece of information, Vas. Thank you.
So L&T ( I will not provide the full name because the first word of L&T's name will be edited ) and L&G have both sold off their Smart Metering Divisions. L&T to Schneider Electric and L&G to Esyasoft.
Thank you for the other information Vas, it was very informative.
LTI.
Morning LT,
On further inspection i think that L&G demerged / sold ONLY the manufacturing division in India to Esyasoft .
This would make sense as Adani and Esyasoft do not manufacture smart meters, so this would bring in their own manufacturing division.
"Stable source of revenue due to demerger of loss making manufacturing unit
LGL’s revenue sources were from sale of meters and from sale of services in the form of consultancy and software development services. However, the company has demerged its loss making manufacturing unit. Currently, the company is generating its revenue from its service operations based on Noida and is only providing services to subsidiaries. Since, the service operation has always been profitable for LGL, the company is expected to generate profit from FY24 onwards."

Good evening Vas,
And thank you for sharing the infornation on Esyasoft and L&G, it is appreciated. And slots in a piece of the puzzle that has for me, been missing for some time.
Namely, that L&G did not seem to be involved in the Indian Smart Meter roll-out, recently.
I had thought that despite the opportunities for meter manufacturers in India, that L&G were more inclined to smart meter opportunities in developed markets, rather than developing markets. So they could have been to expensive, in my opinion.
L&G did supply WBSEDCL ( West Bengal ) with smart meters for many years, but their last order in India, I believe, was during 2017/2018, for Tata Power ( TPDDL ). So the aquisition of Landis&Gyr by Esyasoft, may explain why L&G do not seem to be tendering for contracts in India, at this moment in time.
But thanks again Vas.
LTI.
Just to add a quote from the IHC report.
"
Esyasoft has actively engaged in strategic partnerships and
collaborations to enhance its capabilities. With the recent
acquisition of Landis & Gyr Smart Metering manufacturing in
India, Esyasoft is positioned to lead the utilities transformation
and accelerating decarbonization in the electricity, water and
gas sector.
A notable partnership is with ADANI India, where Esyasoft has
collaborated to deploy end to end smart grid solutions. This
joint effort combines ADANI’s infrastructure prowess with
Esyasoft’s Smart Grid capabilities, facilitating more efficient
energy distribution and management. The synergy between
ADANI’s extensive reach in the energy sector and Esyasoft’s
cutting-edge technology significantly enhances the efficiency
and effectiveness of energy distribution and consumption
monitoring.
Esyasoft has collaborated with leaders in the electric
vehicle (EV) charging, hydrogen infrastructure, and carbon
management sectors. These partnerships are geared towards
integrating the company’s smart metering and IoT solutions
with the emerging technologies in these areas. This integration
is key to supporting the transition to cleaner energy sources
and promoting sustainable practices in energy consumption"
Cheers Vas
Afternoon LT,
Thanks for the information.
Something I did not realise was that in Dec 2023 Esyasoft bought Landis and Gyr (India, or maybe the whole company) and the new company is called "Esyasoft Landis And Gyr Limited (ELAGL)"
https://www.legalentityidentifier.in/leicert/3358001IMNCP9MOBIQ16/
I only discovered this while reading International Holding Company’s (IHC) 2023 Sustainability
Report details the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Strategy and highlights and i noticed they have Esyasoft as one of their indirect subsidiaries etc - see pages 12 and 23 for what they say about Esyasoft, big in EV charging also .

Just for info GL Vas
Good afternoon Vas,
Some information from 2022, that may be of interest, including some collaborations between CyanConnode/Esyasoft, up until 2022.
http://cyanconnode.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Brochure-A4.pdf
CyanConnode and Esyasoft had collaborated on 5 smart meter projects up until May 2022, from what I can make out. Two separate projects for MPWZ in Indore. One project for TANGEDCO in Tamil Nadu. One project for HPSEB in Himachal Pradesh and one project for APDCL in Assam.
Esyasoft may have been involved in other contracts since 2022, like the Assam/IntelliSmart/CyanConnode contract, in connection with the Strategic Framework Agreement, but I have not checked as yet, so I cannot say for certain.
I hope this helps with some pieces for your jigsaw. It is interesting slotting the various pieces together.
Good Luck Vas and all.
LTI.
If there was an IPO for India who do you think would take the lead of a consortium. I recon Genus, Intellismart and a few other larger manufacturers to protect their interest. Also would they be happy with minority stake. Obs.
