Another jump ahead of results day?
Good for you guys, enjoy the ride.
I was starting to lose faith myself, and suddenly our patience has been rewarded.
Well done everyone who held.
So much for making a market!
Wow. 6.5p offer. Up 160%
Annnnnd still no no news on the bid.....no update, no RNS just a big nothingburger!.
Where is it? I took profits some weeks back as I felt uneasy about a solid offer coming through. Hopefully I will be proved wrong and investors will be rewarded but it seems to have gone very quiet with regards the bid. Investors should be wary because if nothing comes of it the sp will at least temporarily dip.
A bit disappointed that the RNS today did not produce a modest uptick in sp but no news of any firm bid either.
Getting to the stage where I am wondering if a bid will appear as it has been some weeks since the first bid RNS?
The last month has certainly been good. I bought originally at 4-5p, then added at just over 1p, so just in profit. I think it is a great company with good prospects but I think your rational is sensible. The Directors preference would be something that gives them the potential to keep going with an expanded scope rather than maximising medium term return. The risk is low at 3p, so for now I'll wait and see what happens!
I bailed last week having enjoyed a good run with COS over the past month and walked away with about £1400 in profit. One of the reasons for exiting was that I feel the deal will be less about a pure cash takeover and more about a strategic investor as mentioned below. If that is the case the sp might drift back a bit and once the deal is done I would consider buying back in.
Re Directors buying at 5p a year or so ago they may well accept a lower offer now if they believe it is in their long term interests.
Why would the Directors buy stock just last year at 5p and then sell for less?
The company is still making good progress, adding products and contract customers, they have cash to last about a year, so are not desperate.
I would expect either a cash offer at comfortably over 5p, or a sale of a product line, or most likely a strategic investor at 5p+ value but for the future potential.
Interesting trend rise this week, has tailed off a bit but are we looking at 4p+ for takeover bids?
Every little helps as they say and a $35,000 handout from NZ gov handy as is the rest of the RNS.
Should I start to view COS as a long term hold rather than a short term speculative play with a bid approaching?
Nice filip to cash announced today from US & NZ!
Sold a third of my stake this morning to lock in some of the profit. I will be interested to see where the bid if one arrives is priced? I say if, I think it highly likely there will be a bid just not necessarily a large one.
RNS today and an uptick of 16% but trying to buy a few more around 2.5p rather than 2.7-2.9p as per HL. Will wait and see if the sp fades back a bit this week. RNS does point out this might not result in a solid bid if the two sides fail to agree. I suspect something in the 3 and a bit pence bracket or a cash & shares offer.
So after the initial flurry of excitement over a bid all goes quiet?
No RNS this week, not much in the way of buys or sells so what gives?
as long as you're already in though ( as the stripper said to the bishop) it shouldn't matter too much
bid and ask has been 1.80 and 2.20 respectively on the london stock exchange so i'm confused by both sells being reported as such.
Just purchased 30,000 as a top up for 1.89p and noted that there are 4 other purchases today and no sells yet the sp down? This suggests either the trades data above is wrong, slow or that market makers are holding the price down artificially.
Disappointing end to the week with sp dropping after the good news etc. I noticed the RNS re options and wondered if this offers some clue as to where the bid price will sit? Inclined to believe that a bid around 3p still likely but until it arrives who knows?
i agree i don't know many businesses not affected but having said that the RNS was quite forward looking to re-engage in the future?
Reasonable news given the Covid 19 issues and expect a solid bid to merge in the next month.
