Hi does anyone know why the big drop in share price today.
Good bit of scaremongering to bring the SP down just topped up before goes ex divi.
Galliford Ty , would we be bettet here with or without them? I see the Divi here would change, not really sure if it's for the better.
Peel Hunt maintained a ‘hold’ rating and target price of 1,025p.
“The shares have bounced nicely in 2019, modestly ahead of the sector,” the broker said.
“The 9%-plus dividend yield retains obvious attractions for investors but we continue to see better value elsewhere in the sector.”
Shares dropped 1% to 1,034p in morning trading.
I thought BVS was due to go xd their 38p ps divd on the 29th but I'm told it's today to explain the sharp drop in price; it's just that adjustment. Ergo, nothing to worry about - sasa.
More rot from the BBC news
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-46279048
Just topped up another few grand. An absolute steal at this price thanks to Brexit. Dividend due in the Spring and bound to tempt the big builders back into making an offer on BVS. Bring on the New Year!
Nothing will stop the rot right now, BREXIT causing so much uncertainty in this sector and others. My hopes are commodity focused companies benefit short term from the weakness in the pound and will weigh up an entry here when things become clearer. Might be 800p before Christmas then where to next? GL
why does Bovis not announce a share buy back versus special dividends.
surely reducing the number of shares in issues allows for better returns for the company and it shareholders.
losing 28% off its share price in 7 weeks is worrying.
glalth
Just topped up another 500 in the portfolio. Dividend yield at the highest in months for March. One does wonder if the take-over chatter might pick up momentum again. Lets not forget Bovis Homes turned down several offers last year. With profits up and the SP down could this be an ideal opportunity for Redrow or Galliford to make another offer?
has been priced into this stock as a result of Brexit
RNS today says Mgmt expect record profits in 2018 and increased land bank offering 25% ROCE ... but sp tanks 10%
I've just bought in as I fully expect this to be above 1100p before year end, in addition to the dividends
There's been a lot of red days. This will turn around and I can't see it being too far away. Well under priced imo. Already topped up some more!
Added this to my share isa regular monthly buys. Excellent dividend and offers good value.
Agreed this is on the way up buy does anyone know why Google is showing BVS as up 7% at 16.52 whereas all others show up at 0.9%? Glitch or is this opening high tomorrow?
on the way back up
One wonders if she's bottomed out yet? Can't believe it's still red with nothing but positive news.
Looking forward to this week. Hopefully have time to top up before the SP corrects itself. Good to see Bovis smashing it again.
Demand for houses is outstripping supply outside of London that is, this is where Bovis comes in where they build houses in the north and in Wales, unlike Crest Nicholson and Berkeley as they build in the expensive south. Not important where houses builders build the houses because the further south you go the land worth more, also we know that house builders are building fewer homes in order to keep house prices high with Help to Buy and make huge profit.

Yes totally understand that but the dividend isn't all that important to me. They will recover quickly and produce me more of a profit than the dividend :)
You do realise it's dropped because of going ex div for 64p yesterday? Agree, good buy in point though.
Now a share holders in Bovis Homes. What a fab buy in opportunity. Been watching since the early Sep update.
"Bovis Homes posted a 41% jump in first-half pre-tax profit on Thursday as completions rose and the housebuilder said it was targeting a record year of profits"
These are well under priced imo. I predict a nice bounce back into the blue next week.
Thanks for that, just checking, never bought just for the dividend before is the record date a bit of a throw back to "the olden days"?
