If the CSN and government need an honourable climb down, they could take and publish legal advice (which would no doubt reflect BKY/Freehill's position) and say in the interests of law and democracy they're reluctantly permitting the project.
The current Spanish government have brazenly flouted the law to stymie BKY's project, so may well also be capable of buying Russian uranium in roubles (front or back door like you suggest) in their insane approach to all this. Their EU leanings might prevent this though. France and Germany are baulking at buying gas in roubles eg.
I suspect the late bky sp rally today reflected market concern that other commodities from Russia like uranium might have to be bought in roubles now too.
No they will pay in Euros to a Russian bank who will then convert the Euro's into Roubles.
What the Russians do with the Euro's is anyone's guess.
Might Russia insist on payment in roubles for uranium like is now proposed for gas? Might Spain be dumb enough to do this directly/indirectly (ca 40% of its uranium's from Russia)?
Would it be a good idea to get its own uranium from Retortillo instead?
..."Experts advise investors to keep in mind that the value is speculative and has little liquidity."
I am going to wait for if not firm news then at least talks about the permits required to start production. For now my uranium money is in AURA but BKY very much on my watch list.
I'm doing great, I did a big tour of bonny Scotland last year in July on the hottest day of the year.
Also went to Ullapool, Thurso and John O Groats and popped over to Shetland, nice holiday.
Hello Paul! Just had a bowl of chunky Gazpacho and it brought back memories of the BKY board of yore :) Hope you're doing well!
Ah Broxy old boy you're back ;-)
From the Spanish press today. There's little detail; still looking a bit speculative IMHO.

looks very toppy as license was rejected. be careful here guys. blowing on hot air.
What a price 15p was to get in for those that had the nerve! This is a big move though even with Uranium prices high
Nice sp rise again. It's difficult to see how Spain can possibly continue to buy nearly 40% of its uranium from Russia, wrong in so many ways. It's sitting on its own reserves, ready for immediate easy safe exploitation, and legally, it should already have permitted this.
Does anyone know what is happening here?
We are the Berkley Energia boys and we are here, kiss your women and drink your beer.
Are we popping round our favourite posters house if the permit gets awarded and drinking some of his good lady's soup?
And it was the clowns in Moncloa themselves who said they'd source their remaining uranium needs from the international market. Stupid then, even stupider now...
Any way you slice this, economically, environmentally, or politically, it makes sense to green light the project asap.
P1D somebody clearly buying the rumour that Madrid will grant the permits this year.
I am not so confident and willing to wait for firm news.
A clever pitch to the Spanish people and the idiots they elected in Madrid!
Russian Uranium Bad......but Spanish Uranium Good!
Stupid decisions can only last so long.
Has this Castiljon chap come up with any other viable solutions for base load energy since he joined CSN and became a pain in the neck.
UUUU and CCJ had a strong rise yesterday. Now someone in the EU needs to tell the eco idiots in Madrid to grant the permits!
The Spanish Government, if I can present an analogy, are like someone holding the football before the FA Cup final or the Copa Del Rey and refusing to hand it over so the game can kick off.
Firstly the 22 players will get annoyed, then the bench and management, then the officials, then the supporters and finally those watching on TV.
If the Spanish Government keeping holding the ball (not giving the last permit) the more people are going to get annoyed.
Has Russian finance to oppose the mine dried up I wonder?
Enjoy the ride, you deserve some good news!
Buy at these junk levels imo. Particularly with the increased interest in nuclear generally that we're seeing.
Nice SP rise again today.
