I think this lady is going to be a huge positive for boi. Definitely a modernizing force that will change many things about a bank that has lagged the market as regards tech especially. Branches will inevitably close but to be honest there are fewer reasons for many of them these days anyway. We are fast heading for a cashless society and fintech is the future for banking. This new ceo is a bold choice but the right one just at this time. fair play to the powers that be in the bank for avoiding the obvious in house choices and going for someone that is sure to ruffle a few feathers when she takes up the job in October.
.. blackrock is into banks .. they own 5% of this bank.. in italy.. https://www.google.com.pr/amp/s/amp.ft.com/content/00ff9fcc-9a28-11e3-a407-00144feab7de
Have just returned from the North - my youngest daughter gets married in Whitby at the end of next month - we were up about Wedding Dress fitting, the knife turned further. Two fittings are required @£200 each when we already bought the dress - what a liberty - and then it must be collected. Thankfully we received our first offers today on the properties that we are selling, so I may just have enough for a move after the wedding and a new Vor Sprung in time for my next visit over the water with my clubs. Am trying to persuade the colleen that it is time to return home - so far I am not totally discouraged. Good to read that the sentiment on here is now more positive, because I am invested here since 2008 and was banking on it buying my new jam jar. I only I had sold at .39 and the re-invested the proceeds when the seat went out of its trousers when Donald's pal Wilbur sold out. Good also to see all the responses from X4 - evidence of further improvement which is good to see - don't forget to light a candle in Knock while you are there this summer and then take your wife over to Connemara on a fine day there is a great pub and Lounge at Glynsk House, the food is superb and the pint is perfection. On a good day the scenery is almost spiritual as well as being awesome a wonderful way to lift your spirits. Goodness it's bedtime. Good Luck all..
The money channel had a couple interviews last few days, pumping up Europe investment prospects. We hope the sentiments are manifested soon in the SP.
Spread its wings in till next year , will not greedy and accept it whilst obviously hopeing it spreads its wings and flys above the resistance
Yes they are trowing everything at it now, 10m just dumped for 25c in Dublin, panicking but determined I think. Someone should get in touch with the Exchange!
Our dumper/manipulater friends working hard today to bring the price below 25, worst performing bank share in Europe so far, but I don't think they will succeed.
Returns of moderates in Dutch and French elections has encouraged a flow of dollar in to Euro this has given lift to Eurzone As always with Europe Greece still problem Have to say low English £ now serious problem for this Bank, what I mean by this what seems good Price in Europe in my case would buy a few more with high£ but at this time not possible in other words you investing in Share Price and currency ,think we all know just investing in this Bank is problem People at top of this Bank have never seriously invested and maybe that's the answer As always stand to be corrected G L A
Like you John, I am well into this share, well over 60% of my investing cash. I only wish I had the nounce to move when it was .38. But I have been in since 2008, so will stay a while and see what happens by this time next year. My best pick so far has been Ryanair, with Kingspan coming on. Good to see you X4, I hope we all have a great summer, GLA.

Same boat, same circumstances and same reason why I invested. I might as well have had a masters in boat repairs as against economics as the reason d'etre of where this sp is. Totally manipulated.
John you might just have broken the hex! Anyway yes it truly is an irritating share but I'm not sure it irrational, only to us ordinary holders, whoever is pulling the strings here will either have them cut or they will get their way, either way the sp will I believe be free to rise to its normal peer level, i.e. +25%, things have changed in the last two weeks. Hang in, the worst is behind I believe.
"The Market Can Remain Irrational Longer Than You Can Remain Solvent" If ever there was a quote that fitted BKIR this is the one. Its bad enough looking at BOI struggling to cross 25c but watching AIB with just .01% of shares in issue heading for a 100% annual gain..well its just "irrational". Question is what to do about it. BKIR is by far the worst preforming share I own and considering its 40% of my holding... not good. Luckily I didn't borrow to buy and I don't need to liquidate but the cash tied up over the last few years could have been invested more profitable else where. I'm posting in frustration today as this share that rationally should be moving higher continues to stagnate while a company I have watched for a year moves off a very opportunistic buying price. nothing to do but suck it up I suppose. I'm in here so long I cant risk pulling out now. I have previously set end of march 2018 as decision time so in until then. At least the sun is shining..out side.
The SP is also hugely dependant on the wind and from what direction it's blowing, that and piggy backing on oil price variations ......I think we have it cracked!! (Sorry couldn't resist)
.. for some unknown reason.. the price of oil correlates with the bkir price.. when the price of oil went to hell.. bkir followed.. watch the price of oil.. this week is the opec meeting.. may 25.. if oil goes up.. bkir might get a price bump..
.. this in today .. bkir report.. not an exciting stock .. but competitive.. doing well .. fee income higher than peers.. this is already well known .. almost a monopoly in Ireland.. operating expenses lower than peers.. this is well known.. the CEO's are not given extravagant salaries.. http://www.capitalcube.com/blog/index.php/bank-of-ireland-value-analysis-londonbkir-may-22-2017/?yptr=yahoo

Torquay, Hi! We did a trip on QM2 out of Brooklyn at Christmas with the grandchildren for 12 nights and the experience gave me a lot of confidence. I continue to get stronger and headed for Knock in July. Don't remember if I told you the surgeon cut me off 'down there' and I use a catheter several times a day to wee out of a hole next to my belly button. Amazingly hygienic and I don't have to wear a bag. So getting used to 'cathing' on a plane, at an airport, in a ships cabin, etc was the biggie. Transatlantic Aer Lingus all booked! Thanks for asking.
Id expect it to increase to .50 percent from 0 up 50 basis points in late 2019 , maybe begin in mid 2018 but if they do it too early , all the good work will be wasted , so even if it suits b.o.i , a sustained recovery is best for long run so i hope they dont rush but at same time act prudentley
