I had some Amara mining plc (CA) holdings, purchased through “shareprice. Co.uk” back in March-2014 I was advised that they had been delisted.
At the time had 156,909 + 902 Shares, are these worth anything?
Someone told me they had a different name but I never got any information about name change or been issued with any share certificates!
Would appreciate any guidance.
Share price.co.uk, also merged or got bought out buy iii, not sure were to find any details
Noticed the Perseus PRU price is getting close to the exercise price AUD0.44, the sp currently being AUD0.395
The warrants are exercisable only until Apr 19th this year. Going to keep an eye on the sp as they may go 'in the money' soon
Just noticed the 34% slide in Perseus on Friday on a disastrous current production update. Completely by luck I sold all of my shares the Friday before @ AUS$0.58 = 33p. However, like you I still have the warrants which are now out-of-the-money as have to be exercised @ AUS$0.44 compared to current sp AUS$0.34. Will, therefore, be sitting on those for a while and hopefully will be back in the money before expiration April/May 2019 !
If there's anyone still out there and holding, we got whacked last night. I'm in the middle of converting the warrants and can't stop the drawn out process. More than annoying because I asked to convert and sell 6 weeks ago. Any way, lesson learnt. I'm going to stick to FTSE 350 companies from now on.
Aus dollar to pound was about £1 = 1.85 aus $ on 18th Aril so that would mean I bought Perseus at 0.44 / 1.85 = 24 pence
Want to do my tax return soon and just wondering how I account for this transaction. I had 66000 share which change to 44880 Perseus on 18th April 2016. The Amara shares cost me average 33p, do I show that I sold these on 18th for the last dealing price of 17p and then show that I bought 44880 Perseus the same day for 0.44 Aus $, about 27p
Pleased that you still have your shares, indicating that you intend to hold, if not held under the ISA umberell, might I suggest that you shelter the investment within an ISA, due to the the long term protential of this investment. H&L will or any broker should be able to Bed and ISA the shares H&L only charge for the sale not the repurchase Annual fee is £50 maximum, and you have the market makers spread to take into account ( you pay more for your repurchase of the shares than you received from the sale), but this is a small price to pay, for the non tax investment. Kind regards Robert
You figures are exactly right. Thanks. They haven't sold them thank god. I'm happy to hold these.
engaged brain! to be holding warrants, your amara investment was not sold, but the Perseus offer for your shares was accepted, with the number of shares and warrants indicated earlier. the link is uplifted from the Perseus website and explains what transpired. http://www.perseusmining.com.au/aurora/assets/user_content/2016%20May%2025%20Amara%20shareholders.pdf hope this helps.
Johnson, if they sold them, then surely the cash should be showing up in your account????
working out your amara share holding from your warant holding you must have held 66000 shares, giving you 44880 perseus shares and 22440 warrants. As said reading the Perseus website will explain the work arround so that your broker could still hold the shares until the decision will be made on whether Perseus will list on the LSE. In any event HSBC should not have sold your shares without your instruction to do so, unless they have been given instructions by you for one of their fund managers sole dicretion to manage your portfolio.
I have 22,440 warrants.. How many shares should i have ? HSBC are slow to answer this question
I am hoping and assuming for now that they have not sold them
I got this reply from HSBC. doesn't say if they have sold them though Thank you for your message dated 20 August 2016. Amara Mining plc has merged with Perseus Mining ltd and the resulting Perseus Mining shares have been moved to the Australian market. As this is a market in which we cannot trade and do not have access to, we cannot update your account with live prices. As we cannot hold these shares, the Perseus Mining shares were removed so we can sell them and credit your account with the proceeds. The warrants are valid for 3 years and entitle you to convert them to more Perseus shares. If you would like to exercise this, you will need to transfer the warrents to another provider who can trade on the Australian stock market. If you require any further assistance please call Customer Services on the number below or alternatively please log on to our website and contact us via your Email Centre, which reaches us via a secure electronic link. Our opening hours are 7.30am to 9.30pm Monday to Friday and 10.00am to 4.00pm Saturday. Yours sincerely, Will McCrum Sharedealing Department
something gone wrong!!! Perseus are considering listing on the LSE with a 12 month window to do so, and they set up a work arround so that the shares could still be held in ISA's etc until the decision is made. If they do not list on the LSE then the shares will be converted to normal Perseus shares and listed on the AUS stock exchange. Full details have been posted on this chat, but will be a pain to find, so visit the perseus website for full details.
yes the warrant gives you the right to buy further perseus shares at a cost of 44 aus cents per share irrespective of the share price at the time of excercise. so at last close of market you would be paying 44 cents for something worth 55 cents. You problem of your shares not showing could be that perseus shares at present are not listed on the LSE, and as such the are heldy
Is the warrants a 3 yr option to buy more shares at 0.44 ausi $ ??... I don't understand what's happened to my fully paid up shares. I've checked my accounts and nothing has been sold, no money has gone in my bank since the deal. I've emailed HSBC yesterday but it may take a few days to get a reply
Only warrants
There are no perseus shares showing in my account. On the warrants
Your perseus shares should be showing with your broker at the current value, H&L for whatever reason use the Toronto stock exchange price converted to stirling, seeing that Perseus are a Australian company and if you excersise your warrants to full paid up shares, this transaction has to be carried out in Aus$, so make no sense to me. The 22440 figure suggests to me this is your Warrant holding not the number of fully paid up shares that you own. If you search the Perseus website you will find will find that they provided individual warrant holder with all the information and registered you, so that you could exersise your warrants. Further more you have indicated that your investment was long term, might I suggest that if not already held within an ISA, that you protect your investment from the tax man by bed and ISA' ing your investment , due to the fact that this share could be the goose that lays the golden egg.
This how it shows in my account : PERSEUS MINING LTD CALL WTS 21/04/19 (PERSEUS MINING 22,440 £ 0.00 £ 0.00 ** sell
I am sure that HSBC have posted me a lot of letters explaining what chioces i can make but im not in the uk so havent read any post for 6 months. Ive had no emails from them. But i have just sent them one today
ive just checked my accound it shows 22440 with zero value. I assume i had 33000 Amara shares. ( 22440 / 0.68 ). I cant get my head round this:: (ShareCast News) - Amara Mining has agreed an all-paper merger with Australia's Perseus Mining that values Amara at £68.3m, or 16.3p per share. Shareholders in AIM-listed Amara, which will own 35.1% of the enlarged entity, have been offered 0.68 new Perseus shares for each AMA share, together with a warrant for 0.34 Perseus shares that will strike at AUD 0.44 per share for a period of 36 months. Recommending the deal to their shareholders, the board of the two companies said the offer represented a 42% premium to Amara's price on Friday of 10.3p, or a 28% premium against the 20-day volume-weighted average. Perseus shares have traded down 11%, pointing to a current implied value of 12.8p per share for Amara, or a 25% premium to Friday's price, excluding the warrant.
The perseus shares closed at 55 Aus cents today, you received approx. .66 of a perseus share for 1 Amara share. and warrants with a 3 year life enabling you to purchase/ excersie the warrants for 44 cents per share during that time frame, so you are in the money.
These shares in my HSBC account show as zero value. I've not been in UK for 6 months and did not follow any of this deal... what exactly did we get for our amaranth shares ? I had my amara share for quite a few years and was holding at a big loss. So I choose just to keep them and forget about them hoping the price would rise in future years. I think my average price was about 30p
