It’s not that simple an equation. Who got Allied Mind a mention in the Sunday Times and when was the last time that happened? I wouldn’t underestimate Crystal Amber’s activist credentials nor the association with Woodford.
That said CA may not want to change anything anyway. That’s part of what I’m trying work out. It will be easier to determine this when they issue their next quarterly report in two months. They may just see a bargain and be perfectly happy to wait quietly and they may continue to buy.
Check what they did to Aer Lingus after they announced a 2.8% stake, or Ocado last year, when they tripled the value of their small stake before exiting.

He can do sweet FA with 2%.
Over 70% of the company is held by 10 different holders.
Woodford and invesco alone have a combined 47% and they can’t “shake trees “
An interesting point is that WPCT and invesco own around 42% of Crystal Amber

Richard Bernstein who manages CRS has a fearsome reputation for speaking up when quieter efforts haven't succeeded and is highly respected by the press. I met him about 18 months ago and got on well with him. I'd suggest following him on twitter and checking his past coups. 2% is plenty of justification for him to create quite a ruckus if he feels the need but he'd regard it as a last resort if other forms of engagement haven't caused changes.
I'm still reading before investing but definitely interested.

Thank you, but how significant and influential is a 2% stake in a company? Both are similarly sized companies with CRS having a MCap of 201.5m and ALM 151m, although I am not clear about the role that CRS plays with regard to the companies within its portfolio. Presumably, the larger the stake the greater the influence that it may exert?
