http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-08-13/gunvor-shows-interest-in-afren-oil-asset-sale-to-grow-in-africa a comment from the Administrators would be interesting given the ridiculous deadline, and their e-mail yesterday to us saying that a fire sale significantly over dramatises the reality!!. Nobody buys an oil field based on 1 week of due-diligence. That's crazy! afrenlegalaction yahoo com
better than nothing i suppose.
Thanks for your post Ynot and I think we all are suffering here in some form or other and I am in deep as you know. I don't like to dwell on it too much but there are many here in a similar situation so when they post, whether the content is blowing off steam, repeated facts or not, it often reminds us of what has gone before and keeps important things fresh in the mind, after all so very much has happened here and it's sometimes difficult to keep track of it all. I'm hoping that ALAG can succeed and I'm very glad to hear that you genuinely support them also. They deserve all the support they can get. I am also leaving them to get on with their job as they have a good bunch of talented professionals working with them, which is reassuring at the very least. I'll lower my profile if it helps them and remove it completely if that would help matters. Whatever they end up achieving, I will be grateful for their effort. Atb
Hi andy. I wasnt dictating what people can say on a BB. If it came over as that it was not intended. I was trying to say that if anyone has any allegation, they should support it with some evidence then send it to ALAG. They can then collate and co-ordinate it all to form a case in a much more useful way. I used jester simply as a way to illustrate what I had said in my previous post. I did apologise to him in case he thought I was having a go. I was really trying to help. I support ALAG and I think they are standing up for SHs. I see things in their strategy that I would do differently, but we all have different views on all this. I would rather leave them to get on with the job they are doing rather than be one of the "what you should be doing is.... " brigade. I have suffered enough of that on my watch. There can only be one captain on a ship. Wish you all well.
you've all on supporting you and your lass.
Absolutely singy, The corruption is there to see in black and white, if these voltures get away with robbing innocent people and effecting their lives then all investing should be banned
singy, sorry but you need to do more homework. The payments were from Oriental, not Afren. Afren -according to the independent legal review- was not impacted financially by the whole affair. I'm amazed that you wouldn't know that.
I would have thought it should be pretty straight forward for shareholders to get compensated. We all know existing directors of afren took millions from the company in unauthorised payments which resulted in the collapse of Afren. Why can we not take legal action against these people and see them stripped of all their assets in order to payout existing shareholders some compensation?
No. I have great admiration for any group/person or whatever who takes on big money and I have wished them best of luck several times. Read my post again without paranoia and you will see it actually is an attempt to support ALAG.
Are you here only to undermine ALAG? If so I am afraid you are late, already they have support of over 100 people.
If andydiff is the type of person promoting ALAG I would imagine his manipulated rantings are a huge turn off. It is impossible to take any organisation or grouping seriously when their loudest advocator is quite obviously intent on blaming absolutely anyone/anything else but himself on his shocking investment decisions.
I also had a letter from SC. This concerns Afren Plc Ord 1p, which is the name of the "security". The offer was either to convert my shares that are in my ISA onto a Share Certificate (cost £25.00) or they will be moved outside my ISA into my general account on 8 September. This is because shares that are not trading on any market cannot be held in an ISA. The letter also suggested gifting these shares to charity. They are almost certainly worthless imho.
recieved a letter from share center are they paying 1p a share can anyone confirm this ty
Since the birth of ALAG I have supported them as I believed in them, when others said they were just 'bleating on' and wasting their time. If you had joined them early on we might not be in this mess now. I just took exception last night to you telling people what they should post that's all. Your crown is broken. People should email ALAG with info before putting it on here IMO. Not openly discuss what might be sensitive facts and information and in need of researching further before it can be covered up. I have to go out now, have a nice day.
Thanks jester. Your right. We have all been through a lot
You don't have to apologise m8 no offence taken. All on here have been through enough.
Grow up mate. I really hope you are not one of the ALAG working team. You do more to destroy their support than anyone else on here. I really hope they are not pinning their hopes on the likes of you!
This is a bb where pi's voice their opinions, frustration and concern to other pi's about the general sorry situation that has been forced upon them. Since when have you made the rules on what is posted here? When pi's receive or acquire information that is useful or they contact someone who is linked to Afren in any way, they can email ALAG. What you seem to be implying is that unless you have something specific and factual to say, don't bother. Well that Is Not what bb's are about. TW Are you Simon Hawkins brother in law? If he told me to get out while I still can when I rang him just after the leaked RNS which he never even acknowledged publicly I would have done so. Instead he said 'It's tricky' I hope it turns out well for you. You see I had lost so very much already I was hopeful that the so would stop plummeting and that the enormous assets touted by the company would enable the company to come good. Little did I know what the other chap Alan Linn, that Ynot yourself and Pete were all so keen on, had in store for us. I thought we were close to his heart? A LinkedIn confession from SH is most welcome but let's not paint somebody much whiter than they are. I mean, how well do you really know him? If you know him for that long and that well that you can vouch personally for his character as you constantly post what an honourable man he is here, you'd have known what really going on surely, because he did? Just my thoughts Anyway time for bed now Nite nite
Hi Ldlv. You make some good points about the administrators and blackstones. You need to address the points you say on here direct with the administrators, which im sure you are doing. You mentioned before that you would be meeting with the Administrators. Do you have a meeting scheduled with them yet? Just one thought learnt from my own experience.... you may find them more inclined to tallk to you when you are not waving a big stick over their heads (various accusations and inferences of inappropriate behaviour). I know you always disagreed with our "polite" approach. I hope your "firmer" method works for you. Good luck in what you are doing. You now carry the torch.
Hi jester. Im sorry I really wasnt picking on you. No offence. Keep on what you are doing. Youre right, every bit helps.
I dont understand why they didnt put all the subsidiaries in administration, but only the parent company?! What does that mean?!
All im doing m8 is putting what i think out there and there is no harm in that. If someone with more power and authority picks up on what im saying and investigates thats gotta be a plus hasn't it.....
We can all feel sadness but too many people have lost too much for this to be brushed under the carpet during the holiday season
It was enlightening to read the recent Simon Hawkins statements this week now that he is free from the Afren battlefront Everyone who invested in whatever form may also want to ask the former head of investor relations during the period of the 99% collapse in share price value of Afren over the past 12 months a few poignant questions. Especially as he has admitted that he had unrestricted access to board level Outlook calendars and therefore Outlook emails.
Yes.. I am thankfull for that.. But i have a feeling that SH knows a lot more.. I hope being a man of faith he will help the shareholders in this difficult time.. We will see...
