Ignore this, totally messed up.
Not too shabby, .757 of an SLET share gives a nice 11% premium on the current share price.
Strange things happen :D
Ventured into positive territory. I'm still at a loss how the merger can happen at a lower sp than it currently resides.
Quicker than i expected Ship x
I'll admit I'm at a loss, are we still in a bid situation? The sp has been above and below, not sure why it's still floating until the recommendation has been accepted or rejected. Its confusing my thoughts about whether to hold or sell at this current price.
Soon nice rise so far spring s my favourite time of year Ship x
All is well that ends well To coin a phrase Ship x Brick hold afew back ps love the koi ship x
Will be here for awhile and very happy so far Nice quiet board. Plenty of time to spend in the garden whilst the spring flowers grow Lovely day Ship x
It's because is the SL. merger.
Are 31of these in one day a little worrying or are they trying for a world record !!!!
Not entirely sure but their still seems some uncertainty regarding the value if deal that SL are receiving with the prevailing view that they are giving too much away to AssMan shareholders
If SL is going to buy ADN at 286.5p, why the SP keeps falling since the initial surge after the announcement. The price now is 270.4p. Any suggestion?
Just holding this.. been great since 247, so no issues with holding this till the outcome of merger.. seems to be positive.
*STANDARD LIFE TO BUY ABERDEEN ASSET FOR 286.5P/SHR, ABT GBP3.8B
Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life confirm £11bn merger. In a statement issued on Saturday evening after an earlier report by Sky News, Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life confirmed their intention to pursue one of the City's most significant deals for years.
Is right in that resistance pocket, but looks very strong, no major volume spike either (might mean a lot of sells getting out) fairly confident to hold this for now, if we break and rise above the 88-90 mark, then happy days! :-)
https://www.cash.ch/insider/steht-die-credit-suisse-vor-einer-milliardenuebernahme-1047976 Not sure if a sale would be worth it. Unless I've got the exchange rate wrong. If they are looking at a figure of 5 billion swiss francs that only give about a 10% premium on todays price. You are likely to get 7% by just holding them for a year.
FT speculation of M&A activity today with Credit Suisse. Seems it's in a few other papers too
There is at least 18% upside to the area where the growth is in this stock (325p), the downside is south of 200p. As we are currently I no mans land, not knowing where ADN is headed, would it be stupid to buy ??
We're in breakout territory...
Forming a rising wedge on 60 minute, its that 270 barrier!! if we can push up through this, then next MAJOR area of resistance will be 288.. (on the way, previous highs of 278 + 283, but not classified as major) Looking at this from an Elliot wave perspective as the W5 was at the 247 level... if the market fails to climb above 270 and needs to find support, 254-257 should be that area to provide uplift for this market.
Iv looked at the dividend cover. There diluted EPS is 20.7p and dividend of 19.5p. So, its covered just for now. Further, ADN is not a big player, though it does look after over £300bn of assets worldwide. There is light at the end of the tunnel, though when we see it is anther question. Most brokers I have just looked at show various valuations based on Brexit & Trump effects; BoFa 295p GS 245p HSBC 280p RBC 285p This stock could be oversold, and there could be more upside to downside?
will be interesting to see how it plays around the 270 ,mark, there is some resistance from previous price action here... hopefully is will blow through
The div cover was at 1.08, so only covered them by 0.08%... I think Brexit and trump put the fear into investors and as a result they been pulling out.. Think that sentiment for this company/market has changed and looks more bullish..They still paying the div for this year, will be interesting to see how their investments went for this quarter... Think they made the right investment choices and that will give them a nice turn... I trade off TA when looking at these companies, as want to make the right entry for both compounding Divs and giving me SP % as well.. Great level at 247, I,lol be buying more if retested GL
