Still edging up chaps.
I got lumbered with 0R22 which I was told by ig was not very liquid so I sold them at small profit,so my aca journey did not end as intended.Need to switch to new broker although may stay in cash until brexit sorted.lol.
The problem appears to have been sorted today. During last week after the ACA shares first ceased trading the ticker kept changing with wild swings value of my holding. Sometimes 16.5 pence, ticker 0R22, then in USD, ticker GOLD but a very big spread. Today it's ABX shown in Canadian dollars with a value which is about right but it's showing as up 50 odd percent on the day :(
Hi PP -you need to ring your stock broker as Acacia shares are no longer trading as a separate Company they have been bought out and taken over in full by Barrick Gold the Canadian Company. Your stock broker can advise you further. So you will not see any further changes in price on here as they are now trading under the code ABX on the Canadian and North American exchange. However the good news is Barrick as I have made reference to is on the the rise.
Lets hope today we get off to another good start most miners up today 230919.
Apologies for only being a recent contributor having been an observer for months.
I'm an Interactive Investor member and since the conversion my acacia shares have gone from showing a healthy profit to between a couple of hundred quid profit to a thumping great loss. Sometimes it shows the share price has 16.95 pence and other times it shows the share price has been approximately correct but with such a widespread that my profit is reduced to a few hundred quid. I emailed interactive Investor and they said they are aware of the problem but didn't expand any further.
Their are seven tickers for Barrick, which one should we be,ig have given me the lse version which is 14p and not very liquid.
I have 4200 abx shares so glad I got back in on the other hand if I had not sold at all I would have had many more.such is life.
I see we are up approx 2.86% in afternoon trade. The pound is also down against the CAD which helps us further here. The good news continues for those who stayed for the Barrick takeover.
Terrible for any holders. 50% drop! Sirius -ly-)!!
Yes chaps I will keep us advised as I intend to keep monitoring where we have gone i.e. into ABX , Hargreaves give a live price on the NYSE when they are open so it would be good to report back here.
You never know if the Chinese come in they may even repurchase the Acacia name? They are good at copying the theme and then developing it later, so it is alleged?
Hi Franky,
Yes, it would be great to hear some investment ideas from the others on this board.
Personally, I agree with your comments on the Agro stocks. I feel also that they are so cheap they have little downside. I hold Mosaic which recently was at 13 year lows, cheaper than 2008. I'm also following Nutrien but I'm waiting for it to drop before I scoop up some shares. Another one I like is Salmar which is a Norwegian salmon company.
On that note I'm glad I don't own Sirius Minerals up North in Yorkshire. 50% drop in one day! I think I'll stick to the N. American fertiliZer companies...

Hi Chaps, we can still use this board and try to share some other good investment ideas between us and have our own Barrick rant when the ass falls out of it ! haha:-))
I mentioned William Hill a few weeks back who are now about 30% higher. Frustrating as I don't have a spare dime to invest. They will get back to 2.50+ as they grow out the US business and I see a turnaround and takeover here for sure, so certainly not missed the boat.
I'm quite interested in Hecla Mining. They are a Nevada based Silver Miner (have been for 100 years +!!) They have extended the mine life again, are investing into new sites and are currently below 2$ a share. Have been 6$+ in recent years. Admittedly I don't know where demand for silver goes with Trade War and looming recession, but can't believe this won't make money as a 2-3 year investment.
Long term - Agronomics is interesting (mentioned before). They are a fund that invests into lab grown fish and meat alternatives. Very interesting and new sector that could go ballistic at some point!
I think we all need to be super cautious over the next 12 months as there will likely be a stock market melt-down and as always it'll be out of the blue!!
I hope you all get richer!:-))
Apologies, not sure why this got posted twice
I'd also like to add my thanks to all posters on this board which has been great fun and very educational.
P. I wouldn't touch Petra with a ten foot pole. I held them few years back and made some money speculating but it's a bad company. They're loaded with debt and diamond prices have been going down.
If you believe that gold is going up and a recession is coming, then diamond prices are likely to be hit hard, especially if demand from China drops. Not to mention the increasing popularity of lab made diamonds, especially among millennials. If I had to pick a diamond miner I'd go for Gem Diamonds or Lucara who have much less debt and produce some very large diamonds. Those will always be in demand and fetch a premium price, regardless of the rise of lab diamonds. Lucara even pays a dividend though it might get cut soon.
Please, tell which ticker now have ACA?
Poor old Petra investors chronicle favourite years ago, thanks for advice.another one bites the dust .

Anyone know much about Petra.back in the good old days they were 2 quid. Now a few pence.See abx have new tier 1 discovery potentially subject to geology hence rise today.lol.
Yes Stobart a good long termer but I sold my holding last week after taking a 25% profit. If they go down a bit more I will buy them back, otherwise I am watching the Gulf situation and if there are more strikes (which I suspect there will be) then I might put some more in the Oils market). What worries me is the precision with what and where they hit, someone had some pretty decent kit there and knowledge of how to program and fire without detection. They will do this again I am sure.
Dear BB...Some morsals of information to chew there.. You know I still gold NCC and added to SNN
which you brought to our attention.
I have to say I bought Lookers at 49p but bailed out at 53 p so costs paid for. I think cars generally will have their time later.
Metro Bank..lI tell you this .On a personal level people love to use this outfit. And I appreciate their philosophy of real time real street banking
But banks generally in a climate of ultra low interest rates is mot for me.
As for gold apart from ACA I m here I go in and out of HGM
..very low costs of production.
And Super I m watching STOB ..if I see it under 120p..I m in...Up the Palace !
Sxx a shock, used to have some years ago, watched the planning approval live on web, close call.Goverment should step in with some cash before Chinese snap it up.unlikely though as still squabbling over brexit.lol.
Yes LSE39 -please refer to the Acacia home web, for the full breakdown in what you can expect of the ABX site or reuters.
