I still don't get this listing location malarky. If the FTSE is so undervalued surely it is just a matter of time until this is taken on board by the wider market and people will start buying. Isn't this what is already happening? Things go in cycles. Is it not just our turn now (even if we don't ever reach the heady heights of the US market)?
Shows how much FTSE is undervalued, if Primark is separated and listed in US, it alone will be valued at the current valuation of ABF
Love this share!!!
A shame more aren't invested here. Food and clothing. Lovely margins right now 😀
Market is weak today, and ABF, has fallen below low, of 2/4/23. Look for sp, support, around 2390, where there was a previous price peak. Also the 20 day moving average, in the same area of 2390, is expected to give extra support.
Two daily three bar pivots, beginning 7/3/24 and second higher pivot 19/3/24, confirm trend is up.
New high today, will be bullish breakout, if close remains above 2485.
Volatility based Bollinger bands are separating indicating increased volatility. The upper Bollinger band which is rising , indicates the direction of the uptrend. The lower Bollinger band which is currently falling, may at some point begin to rise in the same direction as the upper band, which would then indicate reduced volatility, and a possible retracement.
The sector chart is making a new high, and is also above its calendar month 1/3/24, time pivot , so bullish. DYOR.

Real growth drivers 18 Dec 2023 10:51
"Surely the biggest near term growth driver will come from the rollout of Primark stores in the US? 8 new stores this year and 60 by 2026, GT clocks etc should be added at each of these shops. ..."

"Retail Crime in the UK – and How To Address It
01 February, 2024
Shop theft has reached record highs in the retail sector, with nearly half of retailers claiming that theft has increased dramatically in the past year. According to reports, organised crime syndicates target retailers, shoplifting or stealing high-value goods to resell elsewhere. This harrowing trend puts staff and customers at risk. ..."

RSI(relative strength index) over 70, and so near historic RSI, highs, for overbought. Bollinger band volatility measure , bands are separating , meaning fast sp, movement. If lower Bollinger band , begins to turn up, retracement, in sp, is likely, and so opportunity for profit take. If RSI, falls to area of 50, and turns up, expect the retracement to end and uptrend to resume. At that point the position of the lower Bollinger band is no longer important . The upper Bollinger band will generally move upward in the sp, uptrend.
Yeah, I'm surprised, no comments until yours and only one a month ago before that. I think the better the stock the less comments there are! I will be looking for discussion boards with not discussions as a way to pick stocks in future!
Someone had to post here to say hurrah! Great results and a positive rise! So there, I've done it!
Surprised that ABF isn't followed here v much. You'd think it would be up there due to the cost of living squeeze.
Market liked the announcement of the purchase of National Milk Records.

26th June.
Sunday afternoon: Had a stroll into my local Primark which is in one of the shire capitals in the midlands.
The store was busy and looked fantastic.
Picked up 3 pairs of chinos for £9 each and some light summer shirts for work, also £9 each.
Absolute bargain.
I was in the Bristol Primark yesterday (Saturday) and it was heaving, wondered if anyone else has seen similar in your town/city?
Operating profit only down 3% you'd think ABFs input costs to still be raging so good cost control in place
Nice to see the company grow the interim dividend by 3%.
Lets see what tomorrow brings…
Cripes, 12% pay rise for Primark staff...this is above inflation but I think we'll deserved especially for those near min wage I can't imagine how they survive
Spread from the HSBC bank next door
Steady as she goes, I'm good with the daily tiny % point increases, am finally in profit by a couple of % after 24 months of being down on the deal
My personal view only - this is worth around £20-25 at present, somewhere in-between. Once Primark establishes it's International growth credentials and inflation stabilises I think you could well be right. It will take 12-24 months in my opinion to get up towards £30. It isn't going there overnight, just because it was back there a while back.
Worth at least £30 quid market not rating it sp
