good post
your views are those of many people and that is maybe a good way to think
but HRZ decided not to perform to expectations
so let's say dave stands at a crossroad...what now?
he talks to his fellow directors / managers & maybe some business friends
they run through alternatives
from all the ideas that come up dave makes decisions
what is the simplest way to get some cash in the pot
phron i seriously dave is doing the best he can for 88
HRZ is not lost but it is being awkward
he owes paul a successful ending to the unconventional
and i expect it will come later rather than sooner
my apple tree was caught 2 years ago by freezing after the buds had flowered
i had about 8 apples not one walnut from three trees & no strawberries
this year bags of apples figs walnuts & blackcurrants
mother nature does not always work the way she should
one of the reasons for insurance hence the saying don't put all your eggs
atb phron & other LTHers from cat
HardToHandle, I agree entirely.
Shareholders own the company. The BoD are elected by us to run the business.
We have a good BoD, and much of the last 4 years have gone very well.
But that does not mean we have to agree with everything that happens and everything they commit to.
This BB is a place for shareholders to air their points of view. It is a good release, a good educator, a good pipeline to BoD of shareholder sentiment.
It is sad for family and friends, sad beyond anything that PB died. His energy and input must have affected success and direction. We have to live with this.
Now the mystery of Icewine 2 non-performance grips us. Everything else is of little interest to me. Conventional will flow sometime in the future. But the scale of conventional is much smaller than the scale of unconventional. I am confident that by the end of 2019 much more oil resource of both will be discovered.
I think Unconventional flow should be first. This will wind the SP up and enable funding for conventional diversification.
But it should be first also because this is where most of the shareholders funds have gone since H2 2014. Finish one job before you start (too many...) other jobs!
It is still the middle of August, in theory work could be going on at Franklin Bluffs. Perhaps the specialist team with Eric are there now. I hope so.
And hopefully a little RNS on the 3D Seismic progress. Maybe it is not a suitable activity for easy half-way reporting. Many computer tasks are "in progress" or "finished", part done means nothing.
Meanwhile, vast oil resources of conventional and unconventional languish a mile or two below ground on our North Slopes acreage. We can be confident of that. And this underwrites our SP until oil does actually flow somewhere.

mmm think he must have planted crab apples lol
LeMajor I think you mean it takes 9 months for the baby to develop.
I can only speak for myself but the process of 'making' the baby takes but a few seconds!
Why do people always say if you don't like it sell up ? This stock is not setting the world alight is it ?, People have a right to be dissapointed atm and question the operational plan thus far ! Let's hope that changes soon though, because that's all we have !!
Impatient investers as you " term it ! " Are also long term investers who happen to be under water and are entitled to their opinion. If you don't like it sell up and move on. Make my day.
The company have a duty to protect the share price, not mug us off at every turn.
LeMajor you got to the core there :-)
There is nothing we can do to speed up the process so impatient investors would help the rest of us if they sell up or shut up. Just like them there apples, they take time to mature until ready to pick. A bit of cross-pollination can help increase the yield (bigger products) through "hybrid vigor" - but it still takes as long as it takes.
I'm hoping for triplets in Q1 from Horseshoe, Bravo and Stellar - but would be happy with twins - however like them apples, it cannot be rushed.... no matter how many men you put on the job, it still takes 9 months to make a baby !
Assuming DW takes up his options, I believe he will be in the Top10.
Listed under capital structure
The list of top 20 investors is on the 88e website and DW is number 20 on said list.
And the reason for that is?
bev
you have very clearly stated facts
but the tree has to mature before the fruit shows up
so the answer is be patient
atb cat
Lets hope so :)
Bev I think DW has managed to plant different varieties in the orchard.

I would try and solve the problem, there are various reasons an apple tree might not bear any fruit:- It may suffer from Insect or disease problems, which would need to be addressed, If there had been cold weather and a lack of pollinating insects that would maybe cause the apple tree to blossom but bear no fruit, Or it could be a biennial bearing apple tree, which means you will get a heavy crop one year and nothing the next.
And not forgetting it is always best to plant another apple tree of different varieties next to each other to get cross pollination, to produce the best fruit.
That's what i would do cat.

I suspect Danny has played last game for England but also, although Glaws say they are standing by him, he could never actually play for them either or in a demi she'd capacity. they have Owen Williams & youngster Lloyd Evans also at 10. I felt EJ was tough on him for issuing his warning in SA but have to admit he was right. The guy is a loose cannon and should now have no place in our domestic game. He certainly can't be trusted IMO. He's admitted guilt on 2 of the charges one of which was assaulting a female Police Officer!

doing fine m8
i have an apple tree & a lemon tree & a fig tree
stay in guid fettle as they say north of the border

Spot on Desmond its' that obvious,....and Brom had I known , no doubt if all of you had known, 2/3 months ago you would be 50% down at this moment in time, no doubt we all would have sold !
He’s probably still here because he’s 50% down and doesn’t want to sell up and lose a tonne of money, isn’t that obvious?
DW is nodoubt playing a blinder because he's sitting on 30,000,000 plus shares indeed he is now listed in the top 20 shareholders on the company website. ,And just to add his annual salary pails into insignificance, when creaming his curve.
Bev if you are 50% down then in the last 2-3 m you had an opportunity to bail at a profit, if you are serious in your conviction that DW is not working for the shareholders and only himself can I ask why are you still here?
