UPDATE 3-MOVES-Deutsche, Jefferies, Avista, Barclays

DEUTSCHE BANK

Deutsche Bank Securities said it hired Chris O'Hea and Robert Garofolo as directors in its institutional client group. O'Hea previously worked at Credit Suisse, while Garofolo was previously at Cantor Fitzgerald.



JEFFERIES

The investment bank said it hired Michael Brinkman, a banker focusing on biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and based in San Francisco. Brinkman previously worked at Piper Jaffray.



CASSIDY TURLEY

The commercial real estate services firm named Kevin Thorpe as Chief Economist, for market research. Prior to joining Cassidy Turley, Thorpe was an economist at the National Association of Realtors.



AVISTA CAPITAL PARTNERS

The private equity firm said it has named Jim Nussle to its Advisory Board. A former White House cabinet member and longtime Iowa Congressman, Nussle is currently chief executive of the Nussle Group, a public policy and strategic consulting firm.



GERBER FINANCE

The boutique finance company that provides secured lines of credit to small and mid-sized businesses said it hired Laurence Kaplan as executive vice president. Kaplan previously worked at a global commodities trading firm.



APOLLO GLOBAL MANAGEMENT LLC

The company's Apollo Global Real Estate Management subsidiary said it had formed Apollo Global Real Estate Management, Asia Pacific Limited, which will be headed by real estate investment veteran Grant Kelley pending regulatory approval. Kelley was Chief Executive of Colong Capital Asia until late 2008.



CHADBOURNE & PARKE

The law firm said Gerald Silver has joined as a partner. Silver previously worked at Winston & Strawn LLP.



TICONDEROGA SECURITIES

The start-up broker-dealer said it hired Christopher Allen and Stephen East, both equity research analysts formerly with Pali Capital. Allen is covering financial services, while East will cover home building and building products. Analyst Doug Sipkin has also joined Ticonderoga.



WESLEYAN ASSURANCE SOCIETY

The financial services specialist appointed Phil Green to its nonexecutive board of directors effective immediately. Green is the chief executive of LIMRA Europe.



JUPITER ASSET MANAGEMENT

The asset management firm appointed John Chatfeild-Roberts
as its chief investment officer. John will take on the role on Feb. 3.



BARCLAYS WEALTH

The wealth manager appointed Tim O'Connor as a director in its intermediaries division. This new role, based in London, will focus on developing the distribution of Barclays Wealth products and services to professional intermediaries.



MSCI INC

The provider of worldwide investment indices said Roger Urwin has become an advisory director with MSCI Barra. He will advise on key projects relating to the international asset owner community.



NEUBERGER BERMAN GROUP LLC

The independent money manager appointed Jason Henchman as Asia-Pacific chief operating officer and Chris Gunns as head of consultant relations for the region.
