Merkel sees slow recovery from economic crisis

Wed, 13th May 2009 13:07

BOCHUM, Germany, May 13 (Reuters) - Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday she did not expect the German economy to return to 2008's level in 2010.

'There is little sign of that,' she said.

'The low point, as regards growth, will soon be here,' she said at an event in Bochum, adding that the path out of the economic crisis would last beyond 2010.
