HIGHLIGHTS-China's recovery not stable -NDRC's Zhu

BEIJING, Aug 7 (Reuters) - A trio of senior policymakers is holding a news
conference on Friday to discuss China's economy.

The three are People's Bank of China Vice-Governor Su Ning, National Development and Reform Commission Vice-Chairman Zhu Zhixin and Vice-Finance Minister Ding Xuedong.

Following are highlights of what they said.

Zhu Zhixin, NDRC

'Now is a crucial time for our economic recovery. For one, the recovery monentum is still not stable, not consolidated, not balanced. The external environment for our economy is still grim and external demand could continue to dip further. Factors restricting the expansion of domestic demand are also quite many, and the economic growth momentum is not strong.'

'The macro-economic policy adjustments and the implementation of a pro-active fiscal policy and a moderately loose monetary policy to address the crisis and a basket of measures to promote growth have in a short period of time been effective in arresting the downward momentum of the economy. Positive signs about the economy are continuously increasing, and the momentum of stabilisation is becoming clearer every day.'
