TABLE-Chicago PMI index 50.0 in Aug vs 43.4 in July

Aug 31 (Reuters) - The Institute for Supply
Management-Chicago said on Monday its index of Midwest business
activity rose in August to 50.0 from 43.4 in July.
Economists polled by Reuters had forecast an August figure
of 48.0.
